Combat Bayonets

BA-100 K98 by E.u. Hörster
Here's a nice honest K98 combat bayonet. Blade is a quality blued example that has that plum look depending on how you turn it in the light. Love it! It retains 97% of the factory bluing. and the original tip. Other than honest in/out marks all the blue is there. The blade is "40" stamped indicating 1940 manufacture. It is serialized 5659 matching the scabbard. As with most of the early ones this this is inspection stamped no less than 4 times! Black bakelite grip plates are perfect, a few light scratches on the flash guard but that's it. How often do you see a flash gaurd that's dent -free? The scabbard shows excellent anodizing and is completely dent free. The single side screw is intact and unbuggered. Finally the well marked frog is in fine shape with a hole on the back side where likely a vet hung this on a wall. All the stitching is intact. BA-94 K98 with Tropical Frog
Rare to find a K98 with the desirable tropical frog, it's even rarer to find one with a real one!! :> Blade is a quality black beauty retaining 100% of the factory bluing. and the origianal tip. The blade is about as good as it ever gets on a K98. Amazing when you consider this was a combat bayonet issued in 1941. The blade is "fnj 41" stamped indicating Alcoso 1941 manufacture. It is serialized 8406 matching the scabbard. As with most of the early ones this this is inspection stamped no less than 4 times! Black bakalite grip plates are perfect, a few light scratches on the flash guard but that's it. How often do you see a flash gaurd that's dent -free? The scabbard shows excellent anodizing and is completely dent free. The single side screw is intact and unbuggered. Finally the tropical frog is in fine shape with a fully functioning magnetic button. All the stitching is intact. BA-99 matching? K98
Well some stuff comes in an I just don't know what to make of it. This one is such an example. The Blade is S/177 marked indicating manufacture by Friedrich A. Herder und Sohn. However the scabbard is stamped Eickhorn. The odd thing here guys is the the scabbard and blade have matching numbers's. My conclusion is that it's been reissued. I know an issue for people is when? I do not know and if anyone out there can help me I would appreciate it. Blade is a quality blued example that has that is stamped 37 for the year of issue. It retains 99% of the bluing and the original tip. It is serialized 2966 matching the scabbard however the scabbard is stamped in a different font.. As with most of the early ones this this is inspection stamped no less than 4 times! Brown wood grip plates are perfect, a few light scratches on the flash guard but that's it. The scabbard shows wear but is completely dent free. The single side screw is intact and unbuggered. Finally the well marked frog has the top stitches ripper, likely from people like me trying to figure out the markings!!
