HE-33 M35 SD KM Helmet
This is a unique and attractive helmet that is right as rain! The exterior is a very dark green green and I would say 98%+ of the finish is intact. The decal does show age but I would say is 90% intact. On the interior we have a SE66 stamp. The shell itself is carefully painted "Jwies".  I think this is right but I am not good with this script. Under this painted name is the lot number that is stamped. It is obscured by the paint but I can make out "494_", don't hold me to that though. The original liner is stamped size 59 so this is big. The liner is ink marked "Paetel" and beside that a "K" in a circle. I believe the K was added at a different time as the ink is slightly different. The leather may have been treated long ago and still looks decent. There is mild wear and age.  Exc++

HE-19 M35 DD ET66 Army Combat Helmet
This is a refurbished helmet meaning that it was repainted and redecalled. It was refurbished before the war as smooth paint and double decals were reapplied (as opposed to rough paint and a single decal). Decals are at about 50% with the original decals visible under the current ones. The paint is about 40% original pea-green and the rest is the later apple-green. The later paint and decals did not adhere well. The original liner is very nice and still supple. The correct aluminum un-reinforced liner is dated 1937 and there is a beautiful dome stamp of 1937 as well. At first I thought it was a Kreigsmarine helmet for two reasons. First the eagle decal has a toned finish to it but this I later realized was just the lacquer that had changed colour. The second reason is because there is a cloth tag still sewn onto the liner that reads: Breitner N35/37K. Cloth tags sewn onto liners is a practise mostly done by members of the KM. Breitner is the original owner's name and I researched the meaning of the other letters and found this:
N: the unit came under the command of the Admiral of the North Sea
35: Personnel number within that unit
37: year Breitner joined the Kriegsmarine
K: Küsten Laufbahn Land (Coastal service based on land rather than sea hence Coastal Artillery)

So this was originally a KM helmet that was refurbished as an Army helmet. Pretty cool. Exc+

HE-28 M42 Luftshutz Combat Style Helmet
One piece construction with liner in rough shape with cork spacers between liner and shell. The liner may no be original to the shell. Shell has the rolled rim. Chin strap is partly there but mostly missing. Correct smooth dark blue/black original paint in fine shape. Single decal is great shape to the front. There is a ridge around the circumference, 3 rivet construction. All the rivets are intact. Exc++

HE-32 Early NSKK Crash Helmet
I love these things and buy 'em when ever I find one in good shape. So many have dried out leather and broken straps etc. This one is in fine shape. The hard black leather-wrapped shell has a padded fin ridge running from the front to back and around the perimeter. The exterior overall is in fine condition, with some evidence of scuffs from normal period wear. There is a flexible leather visor projecting from under the front edge of the helmet which is completely intact being correctly sewn into place with all stitches secure. The helmet has a nicely patinaed nickel metal NSKK eagle attached to the front with prongs thru the correct reverse washer. The first model eagle has no NSKK scroll above it (this appeared with the eagle on the 2nd Model helmet). The black paint on the swastika is about 95% intact. This helmet is made with three small metal grommet air vents on either side. The helmet has a short black leather rear skirt and earflaps, with chinstrap and single buckle. There of course is some normal period wear here matching the condition of the rest of the helmet. The inside is unmarked and I do not see the size stamped. The interior is clean just showing some minor sweat stains towards the front.A tie string is present (running through the tongues). A real nice early example! Exc++

Vi-1 Army Artillery Officer Visor
This cap has a very nicely shaped top with a high front crown and a slight pinch to each side. The cap material is a plush quality wool, in a dark field grey hue. Nice thing about this example is I can find no holes or tracking. The bright red Artillery branch piping is in fine shape. The dark bluish-green cap band is very clean and is not bent or miss shapened.. The insignia is nice with an aluminum eagle, I looked behind it and it looks to be glued and looking real close I can tell it was broke at some point. Not a huge deal but I want to make sure you know. The hand embroidered aluminum bullion wreath is a nice one with an aluminum cockade. The chin cords are good. The visor is in nice condition, and has that checked underside that I so like to see. The approximate size 57 interior has a tan leather sweatband, which is lightly soiled but in overall quite good shape. It is marked on the sweat band "Erel Stirnschute D.R.G.M". The gold rayon top lining is in fine shape. The diamond-shaped moisture shield still present being marked "Erel Sonderklasse standard". A very fine visor. Exc++

Vi-2 Orts Level Poilitical Visor
Here is a beauty cap that I could not let pass by. About the finest exterior I have seen in a long time. Just no reason for excuses here. Constructed of mustard yellow wool there is no mothing, no holes, no damage, no dirt -no nothing!! The front crown is high and well-rounded, not all bent out of shape like I see so often. The internal spring is in place, which keeps the top panel in the correct shape. The cap piping is in light blue cord indicating the ORTS Level. The light reddish-brown velvet cap band is in fine shape. The political eagle insignia and cockade with wreath is in excellent shape with 100% of the finish intact. The gold chin cords are perfect. The dark reddish-brown colored Vulkanfiber visor is in perfect condition being 100% intact with all the stitching there. The visor underside has that crosshatch pattern that you guys so much love to see. The size 56 interior is lined in pale golden rayon. There is a small stain in there. There is a diamond shaped moisture shield (perfect shape) and a paper tag in the shield slot with a printed size “56”. The substitute leather band has a few tears and minor wrinkles, likely from guys checking out the RZM tag. at the front it has those wee ventalation holes. Some brown tissue paper is stuffed into the edges. This is a great cap that you will feel proud to show off and about as good as they ever come. NM

Cap-22 SS Maroon Fez
Nice quality Fez purchased a few years ago from my dear friend and noted author on headgear Bob Iqbal. This is a quality maroon rabbit fur felt fez. The fez features two piece tassel sewn to the top center crown. The tassel has a short piece of maroon felt correctly inserted  into the crown. From the top of this is a multi strand silky material tassel. The front center has a correct 2nd pattern SS eagle with outstretched wings in silver/gray thread on a rayon base. Below this is a detailed SS skull of the correct pattern with well detailed eyes, 2 sets of teeth and cranium detail. Both sets of insignia are machine sewn in place. The unlined interior has light brown leather sweatband machine stitched in place. The reverse of this has an ink stamp of the size "44" stamped. This fez is in excellent condition. Exc++

Cap-19 Winter Fur hat
Field grey/green wool construction cap with brown/grey rabbit fur. This has the std fold down side and back panels. Interior is blue ink-marked with a maker designation and size 55. The front has a std aluminum army insignia affixed with 3 prongs. There is mild wear and age.  Exc++

Cap-3 RC Visor
The cap fabric is a very short-napped, smooth-textured, slate grey wool, in a form roughly the same as the Army Enlisted Man’s issue cap (round top, fairly low front crown). The cap is piped around the crown and around the top and bottom of the cap band in pale, dove grey cord unfortunately the cord has suffered some wear and moth nips.. The cap’s top panel is nice and taught, since the ring is still intact. There are no holes in the grey wool. At the center front of the band is a wreath and cockade in essentially the same pattern used on an Army cap. It is a later aluminum based example. On the upper front of the cap there is a 2nd pattern Red Cross cap eagle, in handsome, glossy black (eagle) and red enamel (cross) outlined in nickel silver. The visor itself is nice with no crazing or cracks.  The cap interior is pretty clean, with a thin, reddish-tan sweatband with the overlap at the back. A bit of history lies in the band itself. The guy put in a front page of a nazi newspaper dated 1943. The paper is folded up accordion style and I suspect he was trying to adjust the fit of the sweat band. Regardless interesting to see. The cap has a dark, grey/green cotton lining, with the diamond-shaped moisture shield. Nice example of a Red Cross visor cap

Cap-4 EM/NCO M43 SS Field Cap

Cap-2 EM/NCO M43 Lufwaffe Field Cap
This is a late -war 1944 marked lightweight cap in good condition. Constructed of lightweight wool/rayon it features fold down sides. The front pebbled buttons are Lufftwaffe blue retaining 70% of original field blue paint. The stitching appears to be original. The front of the cap features the correct 2nd pattern Luft. eagle and cockade. These appear to be restitched through the lining. Unusual but by this point in the war things were being reissued and sometimes "textbook" constuction methods were shortcut. Regardless, everything on this cap is original pre1945. The visor has an internal stiffener. The interior is correctly rayon lined in gray. The dome is well marked, dated and sized "56". The cap shows period wear and light soil. Due to the nontextbook insignia sewing it's bargain priced!  Exc+
