Here we have the British Commonwealth Defence Medal. The circular medal is made of die stamped, cupro-nickel. The obverse shows the facing left King George VI surrounded by: ?GEORGIVS VI D:G:BR:OMN:REX F:D:IND:IMP.” (George 6th, by the grace of god, king of all the Britains, defender of the faith, emperor of India). The reverse shows; the Royal Crown which rests on the stump of an oak tree, flanked by a lion and a lioness and reads: ?1939 1945 THE DEFENCE/MEDAL?. There is a suspender mount to the top. Nice Patina!
