Here we have a combat worn example of a M40 style single decal Army Helmet. The shell is constructed out of a stamped piece of steel sheet metal that has been pained in a textured green paint. The shell has a rolled over ridge and two embossed stamped air vents along three split rivets. The interior has a steel liner with two ?D? rings and a well-worn leather liner. The exterior retains about 50% of its paint and has a single decal that remains 15% intact. The string and chinstrap are lost to time. The helmet is serial marked ?1770? and faintly maker marked and sized ?Q60" (F.W. Quist, G.m.b.H. of Esslingen, Size 60). If you?re not picky this one may be right for you!
