A wonderful example of a personalized RZM Hitler Youth by August Merten Mw.! This piece has three inscribed personalization's that are from the veterans family, who I bought it from. The blade on this one looks great! The acid etched "RZM M7/31" (August Merten Mw.) maker mark is beautifully executed! This piece shows stunning crossgrain that runs the full length of the blade. Along with a solid fit and a perfect tip, the blade rates Exc++. It shows some age grey and staining throughout. The original brown leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel based, black enamel painted scabbard is a great example! It retains 98% of its paint coverage and remains completely dent free! It is personalized to the front and back ?Richard Moore?. The folded over brown/black leather strap is tightly secured to the reverse by two rivets. The leather is in excellent condition! The top button works well. The hilt is constructed out of alloy base that has been nickel plated. The plating remains in excellent condition, being 99% intact. To the side of the hilt is another personalization reading ?R. D. Moore?. There are two black checkered, celluloid grip plates that are secured to the hilt by two aluminum rivets. They are tightly secured and remain in perfect condition. To the center obverse is a properly pined HJ diamond logo. It is made out of a tombak base with multi-colored enamel work. The enamel remains completely intact! This is an excellent example that is in excellent condition!
