Here we have a solid piece at the right price! The blade on this one looks great. The acid etched "Alles fur Deutschland" motto and "Carl Eickhorn Solingen" maker mark are beautifully executed! Some of the crossgrain continues to remain visible, the tip is perfect and the fit is nice and tight! The Rohm inscription: "In herzlicher kameradschaft, Ernst R?hm" is factory removed. The blade rates Exc+/Exc++. It shows age grey / spotting and surface scratches throughout. The steel based, brown anodized scabbard is ok. It does have a large pressure mark to the reverse. The obverse looks great and will display just fine. The solid nickel scabbard fittings are in excellent shape! The ball has a wee pressure mark yet retains its original round shape. All four screws continue to remain intact. The scabbard to crossguard fit is near perfect! The solid nickel crossguards are also in excellent shape, matching the fittings in color and wear! The reverse of the lower crossguard is Gau stamped "Fr" (Franken). The brown hardwood grip has some cracks, chips and flakes. The solid nickel eagle is properly pinned and has a perfect fit with beautiful detail. The SA roundel continues to hold a perfect fit and retains 100% of its enamel work. A solid example of a Ground Rohm!
