1st Class KVK with Swords by 62

Here we have a cased example of an alloy based, die struck and silver washed 1st Class War Merit Cross by Kerbach & Oesterhelt. The obverse depicts a pebbled Maltese style cross with two crossed broad swords and a wreathed swastika to the center. The reverse shows a full back with a stamped hinge and pin and a flat wire pin that is marked "62" (Kerbach & Oesterhelt, Dresden). They are all in well working condition! Reminisce of the frosting remains on the badge and pin. The earlier vaulted case is made of wood and pressed cardboard with a simulated grained leather covering. It has a beautiful silver portrait of a 1st Class KVK to the top. The hinge and closure button are both steel and function well. The interior of the top lid of the case is lined in white satin and has an underlying pad. The bottom interior of the case is made of a black felt material. A great piece with a beauty case!
