A textbook Assmann right here! The badge features a two-piece construction, consisting of a die cast/struck, gold gilded, zinc based eagle and a blackened zinc wreath. The obverse depicts a diving Luftwaffe eagle, clutching a swastika within its talons, and is above by a blackened half laurel leaf half oak leaf wreath. The reverse of the badge correctly displays; the "A" (Assmann) maker mark behind the eagle. The reverse also shows the correct shows; the four ejector pad marks, the "2", the two rivets, stamped hinge, stamped catch and round wire steel pin. The eagle provides a wonderful detail and has that unique snout and two die flaws we want to see. A very neat piece! See page 92 of Durante's Paratrooper Badge reference. Nice!
