An early, completely matching, tapered tang WKC Army Dagger! The blade on this one is looks excellent. The fit is nice and tight, the tip comes to a perfect point and the crossgrain is beautifully displayed from hit to tip! The dark and crisp acid etched knights head "WKC Solingen" maker mark is wonderfully executed! It has the early tapered tang you would expect as well! The blade rates a solid Exc++. It shows the odd spotting / age grey throughout. The original large brown leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel based, nickel silver plated scabbard provides wonderful detail with the random pebbling throughout and hand enhanced oak leaf and acorn bands! It continues to remain completely dent free. The original throat retaining screws remains intact. The alloy based, nickel silver plated early WKC eagle crossguard provides beautiful hand enhanced details throughout the eagle's head, wings, wreath, beak and chest. The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with hand enhancing and proud oak leaves and acorns. It has some plating loss throughout. The crossguard, and pommel are match in color, plating and dark patina. The warm orange, trylon grip on this one is near perfect! No chips, cracks, hits or splits! Can't find this crossguard in Witty's reference? Check pg 257 at the back, it was a late addition and considered a rare pattern. This is a great example that I wouldn't let go!
