Eickhorn Model 1706 Field Marshal Scharnhorst Leopard-Head Army Sword

Here's a nice looking Model 1706 leopard-head Army sword by Eickhorn! The plated blade on this one looks good. It has a nice mirror like finish to it with a beautifully stamped "Original Eickhorn Solingen" maker mark. The blade rates Exc+. It has a slightly dulled tip, a rough cutting edge and some surface scratches throughout. The original leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel based, black enamel painted scabbard looks good. It shows age spidering throughout along with a wee bump towards the tip. 95% of the original paint remains intact and both throat retaining screws remain intact! The uncleaned alloy based, gold plated hilt beautifully displays detail throughout! About 80% of the plating remains intact. The closed winged Heer eagle is a real beauty! The oak leaf and acorn motif to the ferrule, ?P' guard and back strap looks excellent. The leopard head is wonderfully hand enhanced! It has two red glass eyes that give it a wonderful look! The wood based and black celluloid covered grip is in near perfect condition! No cracks or chips anywhere. The triple wire wrap remains fully intact and is nice and tight. This one is illustrated in Angolia reference pg 78. A great example by Eickhorn!
