An stunning and complete set in the box! The epaulettes are constructed out of a steel base that have been wood chip padded and covered in gold flatwire bullion, black leather and blue felt. To the top is a bullion wrapped half-moon end, silver flatwire and black/red (Wurtemberg) striped tresses and a twisted hanging bullion edging. Pined to the top are two silvered pips (four in total), a silvered fouled anchor wrapped in a chain insignia and a button which depicts a crowned fouled anchor. The topsilde gold flatwire/bullion is in impeccable shape just minor age toning, but no thread catches, mothing or tears. The underside leather and felt shows some minor age crazing and mothing holes. They continue to cover 85%+. Both buttons are tightly secured with a large prong. The twisted bullion edging shows the odd mark yet remain in wonderful condition! Nice detail and workmanship! These epaulettes are house in an appropriate pressed cardboard box that has been covered in grained simulated leather (exterior) and green paper (interior). There is a white felt top covering and both strings remain intact. It shows the odd scuff and mark throughout. A wonderful set with tons of bullion work and nice insignia!
