What a beautiful Imperial German (Prussian) officer’s high-parade brocade belt / sash, complete in its original box! It is constructed out of a grey and silver flatwire/bullion material with a white cotton lining. The silver belt show stow grey horizontal lines with reinforced stitching to the edges. The interior white lining is in excellent shape only mild age toning. The belt has a two silvered adjustable attachment pieces to the inside. The obverse shows a bowtie with two hanging troddle/portepee pieces. They each have a silvered head that is overlapped in a circular flatwire/bullion design. The twisted ends of the troddle/portepee pieces have a grey/gold interior rope pieces with a silvered exterior pieces. Two hanging rope pieces have some damage the rest are in beautiful shape! It has the odd thread catch and age toning throughout yet the whole belt is in wonderful shape! The belt comes housed in its original pressed cardboard box. The box is lined to the exterior in a green simulated grained leather and a blue/green paper interior. It shows the odd scuff and stain throughout. The lid has some holes to the exterior piece. It has done a great job protecting the belt over all these years! A quality example that shows wonderful craftsmanship!
