A fine piece by A. Wingen! The blade on this one looks great! The acid etched Knight "A. W. Jr. Solingen" maker mark is beautifully executed! The crossgrain is easily visible all the way from the hilt to tip. It also has a perfect tip and solid fit! Overall the blade rates Exc++. It shows minor age spotting oen wee nick to the edge and some surface scratches (mostly towards the tip). The original buffer pad remains intact. The steel based airplane grey scabbard looks good! It is nicely detailed with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns throughout. It has one pressure mark to the obverse. The two throat retaining screws remain intact. The burnished aluminum based eagle crossguard looks awesome! It is beautifully detailed throughout the eagles feathers, wings and top side embossed acorns and oak leaves! The steel ferrule and burnished aluminum pommel are also both nicely detailed! The wood based celluloid covered grip looks excellent with only the odd scuff. I did check inside the grip and there is a wee 7mm crack underneath the ferrule. The double twisted wire wrap is in perfect condition and has a nice and tight fit. A great example!
