A well worn example! This piece is constructed of quality Luftwaffe blue/grey wool with orange wool (signals) waffenfarbe piping, (Yes I know is a few views it appears to be more yellow but trust me it's orange!). There is a moth nip to the top left edge you can clearly see in my pics. Other than that no holes. The center-band consists of a black ribbed rayon with a nice centrally mounted aluminum winged wreath and cockade, matching the droop-tail eagle in wear and color. The leather chin strap center is lost to time but the ends and buttons remain intact. Yes, this can be replaced but my preference is to sell this stuff as it comes. The visor top has an internal wire stiffener. The black leather visor in in good shape with some minor crazing, all stitching is intact. The interior is all lined in brown rayon with a celluloid sweat diamond that is well maker marked and dated. This is marked size 57. The front perforated leather sweat-band has one small 1" tear to the side. This one arrived a bit crushed and I added a thin strip of cardboard around the inside of the sweatband to stiffen it up.
