A very rare Type II Bronze Anti-Partisan Badge by C. E. Juncker! The badge was awarded to the Army, Luftwaffe and SS for service against partisan activity behind German lines. The bronze grade was for 20 (to 30 Luftwaffe) combat days against partisans. It is constructed out of a die struck, zinc-alloy base that has been bronze washed. The obverse features; a centrally placed downward pointing broad sword, that has a sun wheel swastika to the round crossguard and is plunged into a Hydra consisting of five serpents and a skull and crossbones. There is a half oak leaf and acorn wreath to the top. There are two cut-outs in the snakes to the obverse. The reverse shows a semi-hollow scooped back with the correct steel barrel hinge, round wire catch and straight round wire pin. There is minor oxidization wear throughout. It appears to have been stepped on/pushed in as the center of the badge is slightly sunk in, you would never know except if you compared it to another side by side. This was hard to get a picture of. It continues to hold beautiful detail and nice bronze wash! A rare badge! Finally if any of you have any authenticity concerns over this one I was talking with Antonio Scapini's excellent reference and I will be happy to supply a COA from him for this for $50.
