An early nickel-silver example by SMF! The plated blade on this one is beautiful! The crisp "SMF Solingen" maker mark is beautifully executed, as is the proof mark just below it! It has a wonderful plated mirror like finish! It has a tight fit and the tip is perfect! The blade rates Exc++/NM. It shows the slightest spotting, the odd rough spot to the edge and the common surface scratches throughout. The leather buffer pad is lost to time. The original blue, pebbled, leather scabbard body remains in good condition. It shows pressure marks and cuts throughout. There is about 92% coverage and it retains a perfect seam. The early nickel-silver scabbard fittings look great, remaining nice and bright! All five screws remain intact! The early nickel-silver chain has 15 lower and 10 upper ringlets that ends at a well working clip! The nickel-silver hilt fittings look excellent, matching the scabbard fittings quite nicely! All four separately inserted brass based gold gilded sun wheel swastikas are beautifully executed! The grip leather remains in excellent condition as well! The triple wire wrap continues to remain tightly intact! A wonderful example by SMF!
