An inexpensive one here! The blade on this one looks fine. The acid etched "Blut und Ehre!" motto and "Tiger Solingen Ges. Geschützt" maker mark are both nicely executed! The tip comes to a sharp point as well. The blade rates an Exc/Exc+. It shows heavy age grey throughout along with some sharpening and the common surface scratches. The fit has a little wiggle too. The leather buffer pad has been replaced. The steel based scabbard has been re-painted at some point, likely after the war. It retains 90% coverage and continues to remain completely dent free! The brown scabbard leather is quite the mystery. The lower portion has been painted over and the top portion has broken off and fixed at some point. The top strap is a watch strap. Period? Maybe, I just can't say for sure. The steel based nickel-silver plated hilt is near perfect, with 97% of its plating still intact! The black bakelite checkered grip plates are tightly secured. The reverse looks as through someone has taken a lighter to it and the obverse has a crack right beside the HJ diamond. The small early HJ diamond retains 97% of its enamel.
