A beautiful example of a Lazy-man's partial R?hm! The partial removal of the "Ernst R?hm" name is a back-yard job. I always prefer these to the so often seen factory ground jobs. I just picture the guys coming home from their weekly SA meeting to a bratwurst and Beck's beer discussing the events of the Night of the Long Knives, and complaining about why they had to remove the name from the blade. Gives a real story to the pieces! The beautiful blade on this one is one to be cherished! The acid etched "In herzlicher kameradschaft" inscription continues to remain intact and about 5%-10% of the "Ernst R?hm" name is there. The acid etched "Alles für Deutschland" motto and "Carl Eickhorn Solingen" maker mark are beautifully executed! The crossgrain is stunning, and can be seen the full length, as you shine it in the light! The fit and tip are both perfect! With consideration to the name removal, this one rates in at NM! There are some scratches throughout along with the slightest spotting but that's it! The steel based, brown anodized scabbard is wonderful! It shows the slightest surface scratches and age spotting yet it holds a beautiful brown finish, continues to retain 20% of its original factory lacquer and is completely dent free! A real beauty! The solid nickel scabbard fittings are in excellent shape! The ball continues to remain perfectly round and all four screws remain intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! The crossguard / grip fits are near perfect as well! The dark grained brown hardwood grip is in excellent shape as well. It shows the odd pressure mark throughout and one wee flake but no splits, cracks or chips! The solid nickel eagle has beautiful detail and a perfect fit. The SA roundel retains 100% of its enamel and also has a perfect fit. This one also comes with a worn rzm era hanger that someone added a long snout nickle clip to. It is marked "2388/41". One of the best partial R?hm's I've ever owned!
