The Cadillac of all SS Dagger makers: B?ker! The blade on this one looks good. The acid etched "Meine Ehre Heißt Treue" motto and "Boker Solingen" maker mark are both nicely executed and provide a wonderful contrast to the bright blade! The motto shows that faint pimpling that we often encounter with B?kers. The fit and tip are perfect and some crossgrain continues to remain visible. The blade rates Exc+. It has been cleaned and shows the common surface scratches and minor spotting throughout. The scabbard body is steel based and has been black post-war-painted. It shows the slightest spidering yet has a nice and dark finish. The solid nickel scabbard fittings look great. They show minor hits but that's it. The ball has been a few bruises yet retains its round shape. All four scabbard screws remain intact. The scabbard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! The solid nickel crossguards look excellent, matching the scabbard fittings in color and wear. The reverse of the lower fitting is district stamped "I" (Munich). The black died hardwood grip is in great condition! It has a wee 1 inch long hairline crack to the back (which I missed the first time I looked at it) along with some rough spots around the roundel and the common pressure marks throughout. It exhibits those wonderful fits that reflect the time and effort B?ker invested in these pieces. The solid nickel eagle is wonderfully detailed and has a perfect fit. The SS roundel is a bit rough but retains 98% of its enamel and also has a perfect fit! In my opinion the whole piece has had a quick once over cleaning.
