Here’s an excellent example of a Customs Officers Visor Cap. The visor is constructed of quality field-gray eskimo wool with medium green band and waffenfarbe piping. The wool shows minor mothing and thinning to some areas yet remains in excellent condition. It has the distinctive silvered wreath and cockade along with the correct customs eagle (with upswept wings) insignia. The interwoven flatwire/bullion and green chinstrap looks excellent and has well working slides. The one knot is slightly loose. The chinstrap is fixed to the sides with two steel and silvered pebbled buttons, that are securely intact. The visor top has an internal wire stiffener. The black lacquered vulcanfiber visor peek shows pressure marks and is tightly secured. The interior is lined in a tan brown cotton/rayon and shows minor mothing throughout. The brown ersatz leather sweat-band is in very nice shape. The top has a black printed size marked “56 1/2”. It shows quality workmanship and is in great condition!
