The Cadillac of all SS Dagger makers: B?ker! The blade on this one looks good. The acid etched "Meine Ehre Heißt Treue" motto and "B?ker Solingen" maker mark are both nicely executed and provide a wonderful contrast to the bright blade! The motto shows that faint pimpling that we often encounter with B?kers. The fit is perfect and the crossgrain looks wonderful as you shine it in the light. The blade rates Exc/Exc+. It shows age greying and spotting throughout, it has been ever so slightly sharpened and the tip is 1mm short. The scabbard body is steel based and black anodized. It shows little spotting throughout. It continues to hold 30% of its original factory lacquer! The solid nickel scabbard fittings look great. They show minor hits and age toning but that's it. The ball continues to retain its original round shape and all four scabbard screws remain intact. The scabbard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! The solid nickel crossguards look excellent. The reverse of the lower fitting is district stamped "I" (Munich). The black died hardwood grip is in great condition! It has two wee hairline cracks (one just above the roundel and the other to the opposite side) and the common pressure marks throughout. It exhibits those wonderful fits that reflect the time and effort B?ker invested in these pieces. The solid nickel eagle is wonderfully detailed and has a perfect fit. The SS roundel retains 99% of its enamel and also has a perfect fit! A quality piece!
