A rare piece missing from most Edged Weapon collections! The blade on this one looks great! The dark and crisp acid etched "Ges. Gesch." TENO (Technische Nothilfe) eagle and "Original Eickhorn Solingen" maker mark are beautifully executed and provide a nice contrast to the bight blade! The crossgrain is easily visible as you shine it in the light! The tip comes to a perfect point and the fit is nice and tight! The obverse is serial stamped "1816" and matches the scabbard throat! The blade rates a solid Exc++. It shows the common age spotting and surface scratches throughout. The original blue pebbled buffer pad continues to remain intact. The steel based nickel-silver plated scabbard looks great as well! It depicts nice detail with the random pebbling throughout and decorative bands and tip! It shows minor oxidization spotting yet continues to hold 98% plating coverage and it remains completely dent free! The throat retaining screw remains intact. The scabbard/crossguard fit is perfect. The TENO eagle crossguard and Cog Wheel Pommel are zinc-alloy based, nickel-silver plated and black burnished. The eagle shows nice vaulting and is beautifully detailed! They continue to retain 75%+ plating. The orange trylon grip is in excellent condition! It shows the common age pressure marks yet remains crack free! Most of these have been snatched up in collections already so if you've been looking for one I wouldn't hesitate!
