A fine example! The blade on this one looks good. The acid etched “Alcoso Solingen” maker mark is dark, crisp and beautifully executed! It has a perfect tip and perfect fit. The crossgrain runs the full length of the blade and is quite stunning as you shine it in the light! The blade on this one rates an Exc+/Exc++. It shows age grey/ spotting throughout along with minor rough areas to the edges. The leather buffer pad remains intact. The plated steel based plated scabbard looks good. It depicts awesome details throughout with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. It remains completely dent free and the single throat retaining screws remain intact! The lower band is upside down. I have seen this several times it’s no big deal. The burnished aluminum Luftwaffe eagle crossguard has amazing detail to its head, feathers, wings and top side embossed oak leaves and acorns. The steel ferrule and burnished aluminum pommel are also beautifully detailed! The plaster based and celluloid covered grip looks excellent. It has a few minor spots throughout yet no cracks, chips or splits. The double twisted brass wire wrap remains tightly intact. A nice piece!
