Please note this item is no longer available and you were redirected to our Archives.

A nice looking private purchased example of a 2nd Class Spange to the Iron Cross! It was awarded to individuals who has received the 2nd class Iron Cross in WWI and would have earned the 2nd class Iron Cross in WWII. It is constructed out of a die struck zinc-alloy base that has been silver washed with polished highlights. The obverse of the badge depicts a German national eagle, with out-stretched wings clutching a wreathed swastika within its talons and is above a trapezoid shaped bannered reading “1939”. The full back reverse is maker marked to the center reading “L/11” (Wilhelm Deumer, Lüdenscheid). It also shows four soldered on nickel-silver prongs. It has some of its silver wash still intact and continues to retain beautiful detail. It measures approximately 1 3/16 inches wide and tall. Included is an original LDO case and small piece of original ribbon. This piece would make a nice addition to your collection!
