Some neat features on this one! The plated 31 ½ inch triple etched fuller blade on this one looks great! The obverse features a wonderful decorative motif of swirls, leaves, military equipment and Ernst Ludwig's bust. The reverse also shows swirls, leaves and military equipment along with a bannered "Deutschland �beralles in Der Welt!" above a crowned eagle and German coat of arm shields. The spine shows a decorative laurel leaf motif. The stamped E. P & S maker mark looks good too! The tip is perfect and the fit is near perfect. The blade rates Exc+/Exc++. It shows surface scratches, age grey along with several hits to the cutting edge. The buffer pad is lost to time. The steel based, black enamel painted scabbard looks fine. It shows 50%+ paint coverage. There is one small pressure mark to the back side. Both throat retaining screws remain intact. The brass base gold gilded hilt on this one looks excellent! It displays two wonderful looking lion heads; one to the end of the quillion and one to the pommel along with decorative leaf motif throughout. The langet shows a unique artillery scene with two crossed cannons. The wood based, blue/black ray skin covered grip looks good, remaining 90%+ intact. The triple twisted wire wrap remains 80% intact. This one is illustrated in Angolia reference pg 114. A great example!
