Here's a nice looking Army Sword by WKC Model Nr. 1056! The 31 ¼ inch long, single fuller, plated blade on this one looks great! It has a nice mirror like finish to it with a beautifully stamped Knights Head "WKC Solingen" maker mark. With a solid fit the blade rates Exc+/Exc++. It shows surface scratches and minor spotting throughout along with a small catch to the tip. The original leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The steel based, black enamel painted scabbard looks good. It shows age spidering throughout along with some paint loss and one area of oxidization. 80%+ of the original paint remains intact and both throat retaining screws remain intact! The brass based gold gilded "P" guard hilt beautifully displays detail throughout! The obverse langet shows a closed winged Heer eagle and the reverse has a wreathed shield. The back strap and hand guard show decorative oak leaves and acorns throughout. Approximately 80% of the gilding remains intact The wood based and black celluloid covered grip looks excellent. No cracks or chips anywhere. The triple wire wrap remains 25%+ intact. This one is illustrated in Angolia reference pg 137. A great example!
