A great looking early example! The bright blade on this one looks good. The "E.M.V. Solingen"/"Ges. Geschützt" maker mark is dark crisp and beautifully executed! The acid etched "Blut und Ehre!" motto is still visible as well. The fit is nice and tight. The blade rates an Exc+. It shows surface scratches throughout, minor age greying/spotting and a slightly dulled tip. A replacement leather buffer has been added. The steel based black enamel painted scabbard looks good. It shows oxidization spotting throughout and has been period repainted. It continues to remain completely dent free! The blackened scabbard leather is in good condition. It has all of its rivets intact. The leather towards the well working snap is broken. The steel based nickel-silver plated hilt retains 75% of its plating. The black bakelite checkered grip plates are in near perfect condition and are tightly secured with two solid nickel rivets! The small early HJ diamond retains 98% of its enamel. A good looking early piece!
