Here we have a good one by Unknown Maker #1! The Bronze Close Combat Clasp was awarded for 15 close combat battles. It is constructed out of a die struck zinc-alloy base that has been bronze washed and brennlack finished. The obverse depicts a crossed model 24 grenade and K98 bayonet with oak leaves, acorns and lined rays all beneath a German national eagle. The full back reverse of the badge displays; a period soldered tombak flat wire catch, soldered tombak block hinge and coke bottle pin with a crimped steel blackened back plate. The badge depicts beautiful details and bronze wash! It measures approximately 3 7/8 inches wide by 1 inch tall. See pages 243 of T. Durante’s “The German Close Combat Clasp of World War II”. Nice!
