A great looking one here! The more desirable plated blade on this one looks excellent! It has a beautifully executed "SMF Solingen" maker mark, with a perfectly stamped proof mark just above it! It has a perfectly pointed tip and tight and solid fit. The plating is wonderfully executed giving it a bright mirror like finish! The blade on this one rates a Exc++/NM. There is only the slightest bit of spotting/age greying throughout along with the commonly seen surface scratches. The buffer pad remains intact. The correct SMF steel based airplane grey scabbard looks good! It depicts awesome details throughout, with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. The finish is worn, the lower band is upside-down and it has period replaced scabbard rings. It remains completely dent free and the headless retaining screw remains intact! The burnished aluminum SMF Luftwaffe eagle crossguard has amazing detail to its head, feathers, wings and top side oak leaves and acorns. The ferrule and aluminum pommel look great! The orange trylon grip is practically perfect! No chips, hits or cracks. The aluminum springy wire wrap remains tightly intact. A nice SMF piece that will surely look great in your collection!
