A great example! The Sudetenland medal was awarded to all German military personnel who participated in the occupation of Sudetenland and the occupation of Czechoslovakia in March 1939.It is constructed out of a die struck tombak base that has been bronze washed. The obverse depicts two unclothed men (one has a chain around his right wrist, the other is holding an NSDAP flag on a pole) that are standing on a pedestal that has a German national eagle on it. The reverse reads: “1. Oktober 1938 Ein Volk Ein Reich Ein Führer” (October 1 1938 One People, One Empire, One Leader). To the top of the medal is a soldered on loop and ring which holds approximately 7 inches of red, black and white folded rayon ribbon. It measures approximately 1 ¼ inches in diameter. The detail is excellent!
