Transitional Eickhorn SA's are the most abundant of a transitional's. The blade on this one loloks excellent! The dark and crisp acid etched "Alles für Deutschland" motto and double "Eickhorn Solingen"/"RZM M7/66 1939" maker mark are beautifully executed! The crossgrain wonderfully shines against the light! The tip comes to a perfect point and the fit is nice and tight. The blade rates an Exc+/Exc++. It shows age grey throughout along with the common surface scratches. The steel based, brown painted scabbard body looks great. It shows the common age spidering yet retains 97%+ paint coverage. The steel based, nickel-silver plated scabbard fittings are in excellent shape! The ball continues to hold its original round shape and all four screws remain intact! The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and it closes with a snap! The alloy based, nickel-silver plated crossguards look excellent as well! They show just the slightest but commonly seen plating loss towards the grip. They match the scabbard fittings in color and wear as well. The brown grained hardwood grip is near perfect only the common pressure marks. No flakes, chips or cracks. The aluminum eagle is nicely detailed with a perfect fit. The SA retains 99%+ enamel! It also has a perfect fit! Overall this is a nice transitional example!
