A solid piece! The blade on this one looks good. The stamped "RZM M7/19 1938" / "Ed. Wüsthof Solingen Ges. Gesch." maker marks are both nicely executed! The fit continues to remain nice and tight and the tip comes to a sharp point. The blade rates Exc. It has been sharpened and shows scratches and age grey throughout. The original leather buffer remains intact. The steel based black enamel painted scabbard looks great. It continues to hold 60% of its original paint coverage. It remains completely dent free. The scabbard leather is in fine condition. It has all of its rivets. The tip of the snap portion has broken off. The edge of the snap portion was almost completely ripped off so I glued a leather piece onto the interior to prevent any other damage. The cap continues to work well. It is marked "Welt-sieger". The steel based nickel-silver plated hilt retains 85%+ of its plating. The black bakelite checkered grip plates are in excellent condition. The reverse plate has a small crack. Both nickel-silver rivets tightly secure the plates to the hilt. The small HJ diamond retains 98%+ of its enamel. A good looking transitional one!
