A solid piece! The bright blade on this one looks fine. The acid etched "Blut und Ehre!" motto is faint yet still visible. The stamped "F W. H?ller Solingen" / "Ges. Geschützt." maker mark is beautifully executed! The blade rates Exc/Exc+. It shows heavy age grey, evidence of sharpening and it has a loose fit. The l leather buffer pad has been post-war replaced. The steel based black enamel painted scabbard looks good. It continues to hold 65%+ of its original paint coverage. It remains completely dent free. The scabbard leather is in good condition. It has all of its rivets and the snap continues to work well. The leather portion of the snap is worn. The hilt is steel based and nickel-silver plated. It continues to retain 80%+ of its plating intact. The black bakelite checkered grip plates are in near perfect condition. No cracks or chips. Both aluminum rivets remain tightly secured. The small HJ diamond retains 97%+ of its enamel, just a bit of wear to it. A good early one!
