Here we have a nice early Bronze CCC by FLL! The Bronze Close Combat Clasp was awarded for 15 close combat battles. It is constructed out of a die struck zinc-alloy base that has been bronze washed and two-toned bronze brennlack finished. The obverse depicts a crossed model 24 grenade and K98 bayonet with oak leaves, acorns and lined rays all beneath a German national eagle. The full back reverse of the badge is also designer marked “Fec. W. E. Peekhause Berlin.” and maker marked “FLL” (Friedrich Linden, Lüdenscheid). It also correctly displays; a soldered on tombak oval plate flat wire catch, soldered on tombak block hinge and tombak banjo style pin with a crimped steel backplateIt measures approximately 3 7/8 inches wide by 1 inch tall. See pages 188 of T. Durante’s “The German Close Combat Clasp of World War II”. A great example!
