The Eickhorn etched blade is Exc+ example with some age grey. The leather blade buffer is in place. Correct aluminium cast fittings are in great shape retaining 100% of plating and traces of factory lacquer. Yes, the textbook casting flaw is evident to the left "wing". The two piece pommel is the correct with a sunwheel swas. to the top. The grip is perfect black beauty that is chip and crack free. The plated scabbard shows period wear with bumps and small indentations that you can feel with your fingers or see if you hold it just so in the light. Overall 95% of plating is intact. The throat is fairly thick and is correctly retained by a single reverse screw. The reverse of the scabbard is Jeweller engraved “F. Hampe” and just under the upper scabbard band “Angalt”. Most likely the original owner’s name. Perfectly setting off the crossguard is an original railway portepee. Good textbook example Exc+/Exc++
