Here we have the Field Marshall Series Pattern 1710 - Blücher Army Sword by Carl Eickhorn. Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher (December 16, 1742 - September 12, 1819) was a Prussian Generalfeldmarschall who led the Prussian army against Napoleon I. The 31 ¾ inch long, single fuller plated blade on this one is a beauty! It is correctly stamped with the "Original Carl Eickhorn Solingen" serrated tail squirrel maker mark. The plating is beautiful and shines like a mirror! The tip comes to a sharp point and the fit is nice and tight! The blade rates a solid NM/Mint-! It shows the common surface scratches throughout. The original brown leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel based black painted scabbard looks great! It continues to retain 95%+ of its original paint coverage. The throat is secured by two dome head screws. The ring remains intact and holds its original round shape. The gilded brass hilt and P-guard are beautifully detailed with oak leaves and acorns throughout! The Art-Deco lion head looks awesome with red glass eyes and hand enhancing to the mane. The languet features a gigantic open winged hand enhanced Heer eagle. The ferrule has a small wiggle. The underside of the crossguard is marked "Ges Gesch."The wood based black bakeite covered grip is in perfect condition! The early brass triple wire wrap is all intact and tightly secured. A beauty for sure!
