Matching Pair of Golden Party Badges

An excellent pair of matching Goldene Parteiabzeichen! These were awarded to the first 100,000 members who joined the NSDAP without interrupted service since February 27th 1925. The small was for everyday use on civilian clothing and the larger was for wear on political/military uniform. They are each constructed out of a two piece die struck tombak base that has been gold fire gilded and contain red, white and black enamel work. The round shaped obverse's depicts a black mobile swastika on a white backing, encircled by: "NATIONAL-SOZIALISTISCHE - D.A.P." on a red translucent pebbled backing, has a thin white boarder that is applied to a golden oak leaf wreath that is tied together at the bottom (the smaller wreath is above a lined backing). The full back reverses are stamped with the NSDAP member's number "71642" and have a horizontally soldered on hinge and lockable catch assembly. The pins are steel. They remain in well working condition. The enamel shows the odd hit/scratch yet remains 98%+ intact. The gliding is excellent throughout! The smaller measures approximately 15/16 of an inch in diameter, the larger measures approximately 1 3/16 of an inch in diameter. A great addition to your collection!
