A wonderful piece! This non portable Nürnberger Parteitagabzeichen medallion was awarded to August 2, 1929 attendants in commemoration of the fourth NSDAP Party Rally - “Day of Composure”. It is constructed out of a die struck bronze base that has been silver washed. The shield shaped obverse features, from top to bottom; the city and castle of Nuremburg, a bordered “NÜRNBERG”, an eagle (clutching a wreathed static swastika) on top of a M16 style helmet, flanked by “1914” (left) and “1919 N.S.D.A.P.” (right) which is all above “Parteitag 1929” and on top of a textured background. The full back reverse is maker marked “F. Hoffstätter Bonn”. It measures approximately 3 1/16 inches tall by 1 3/8 inches wide. Wonderful detail and patina!
