Here we have a Kreigsmarine 2nd Variation High Seas Fleet Badge by the most desirable maker Schwerin! It is constructed out of a die-struck tombak base that has been gold gilded and blackened. The obverse depicts a frontal view of a battle ship, cutting through waves, which is below a Kriegsmarine eagle (with out-stretched wings clutching a mobile swastika within its talons) and is surrounded by an oak leaf and acorn wreath that is tied together at the bottom. The concave reverse is correctly marked: "Fec. Adolf Bock Ausf. Schwerin Berlin". It also displays the correct tombak; soldered flatwire catch, coke bottle pin and soldered block hinge (with the waffle head hinge pin). The gilding and blackening look excellent! The detail to the ship is superb! It measures approximately 2 1/4 inches high by 1 ¾ inches wide. See page 552 of "The Kriegsmarine Awards" book by Weber and Skora. Nice!
