Wow, what a great clasp! The Gold Short Range Day Fighter Clasp was awarded for 110 combat missions. It is a die struck two piece construction with gold gilded tombak clasp and a blackened nickel silver arrow. The obverse depicts a blackened, upward pointing ?flying arrow', surrounded by an oak leaf wreath and is above a static swastika, with nine oak leaves to each side. The reverse shows the correct soldered on round wire catch, soldered on barrel hinge and flat wire pin, along with the pronounced lathe marks to the center and four round holes to each side of the wreath. It has the correct width and height measurements. This one has absolutely wonderful detail, gilding and perfect blackening! A wonderful and beautiful piece!
