Early Haenel SA Dagger

The blade on this piece is fairly nice. It has been heavily cleaned and has scuffs right at the edges like someone tried to sharpen it. I say tried cause it's no sharp. The fit is super and the burnish to the etches mostly all remains. The blade rates an Exc/Exc+. The maker mark reads: "Haenel C. G. Haenel Waffen -u. Fahrrad- Fabrik". The brown anodized scabbard shows some spots of surface oxidization and to the lower obverse a good hit to the edge. Yet even with the worn areas the scabbard continues to look good. The solid nickel fittings are in good condition. The ball is nice and round. All of the screws remain intact and unturned. The solid nickel crossguards have some wear throughout, and continue looking great. The reverse of the lower crossguard is marked "Sa". The crossguard/grip fit is perfect! The textbook beauty brown multi-toned hardwood grip has some hairlines but no chips. The solid nickel eagle shows great detail and has a perfect fit. The roundel retains 99% of its enamel and also has an excellent fit.
