Early NSKK Dagger by Aesculap

Here's a quality NSKK maker that still is in the blade industry today! The blade on this one looks great! The acid etched "Alles fur Deutschland" motto and "Aesculap Tuttlingen" maker mark are both crisp and beautifully executed! The crossgrain runs the full length of the blade and looks stunning against the light! The tip comes to a sharp point and the fit is nice and tight! The blade rates a solid Exc++/NM! It shows minor spotting/age grey and the common surface scratches throughout. The steel based black enamel painted scabbard looks great. 95% paint coverage remains intact. It has a wee pressure mark to the obverse, that is hardly noticeable and you can only see in the light. The solid nickel-silver scabbard fittings look great! Just the odd hit/scratch. The ball has been pushed in. All four scabbard screws remain intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is near perfect and closes with a snap. The solid nickel-silver crossguards look excellent as well matching the scabbard fittings quite nicely. The reverse of the lower crossguard is stamped "Sw" (Sudwest). The grip / crossguard fits are perfect! The brown hardwood multi-toned grip is a beauty! Just the odd pressure mark, no cracks, flakes or chip. The solid nickel eagle is nicely detailed and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel also has a perfect fit and retains 99%+ of its enamel! A very nice example!
