A 2nd Model Navy Dagger by Carl Eickhorn, Solingen. The acid etched fouled anchor blade on this one is fair. The etched panels remain visible. The stamped "Original Eickhorn Solingen" maker mark looks good. The tip comes to a sharp point and the fit is nice and tight! The blade on this one rates an VG/Exc. It has heavy scratches throughout along with age greying/spotting. The felt buffer pad is lost to time. The lightning bold style scabbard is brass based and gold gilded. It depicts nice details especially with the hand enhancing towards the tip. The edges have several line hits and there is a slight curvature to the scabbard. Both throat retaining screws remain intact. The button continues to work well. The crossguard and pommel are brass based and gold gilded. The fouled anchors to the crossguard and proudly perched kriegsmarine eagle pommel are beautifully detailed! The grip is wood based and covered in white celluloid. A few age marks to the obverse yet it continues to remain in wonderful shape! No chips, cracks or splits! The brass double twisted wire wrap remains tightly intact! Nice gilding and patina. A great price on this one!
