An excellent early example! The blade on this one looks great. The acid etched "Blut und Ehre!" motto remains visible and the "C.D. Schaaff Solingen"/"Ges. Geschützt" maker mark is dark, crisp and beautifully executed! The tip comes to a perfect point and the fit is tightly secured. The blade rates an Exc+. It has been lightly cleaned, shows surface scratches and minor age spotting throughout. The original brown leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The steel based black enamel painted scabbard looks excellent! It shows the common sidering yet retains 80%+ of its original paint coverage. The brown scabbard leather remains in wonderful condition! All of its steel, brown enamel painted, rivets are intact and the button continues to work very well! The steel based nickel-silver plated hilt retains 97%+ of its plated finish. The black bakelite checkered grip plates are in perfect shape and are tightly secured by two solid nickel-silver rivets. The HJ diamond retains 97%+ of its enamel! An excellent early motted piece that would fit nicely in your collection
