The blade is a nice nickel-plated example, which rates Exc+. It is beautifully etched with the double oval Horster trademark. It shows a bit of even greying/staining on both sides and one wee nail catcher. The fine blue pebbled leather blade washer is in place. The aluminum fittings have that satiny look with just the most minor evidence of period wear. The swastikas are beautifully gilded! The fine grip is a wood base, having choice Moroccan covering. The leather has honest wear. This grip is wrapped with triple aluminum wire, the center being twisted for contrast. The scabbard shell is straight and true. The original leather covering is in nice shape with no leather loss just couple small pressure marks. The scabbard mounts are produced of matching satin aluminum. These mounts show minor wear. The mounts are retained with unturned headless, flush-mount side screws. The matching aluminum chain consists of seven upper and eight lower ringlets. The ringlets gather at the aluminum upper snap clip that is "OLC" marked. Very nice example of an aluminum 1st model Luft.
