A scarcer maker and a nice piece! The blade on this one looks great! The acid etched and painted "Alles für Deutschland" motto and "ch Chromolit Solingen" maker mark are both dark, crisp and beautifully executed! The crossgrain is easily visible all the way from the hilt to the tip. The fit remains nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point! This blade rates an Exc++. It age clouding/grey throughout along with the typical surface scratches. The steel based, brown anodized scabbard looks great. It has one pressure mark to the reverse along with minor oxidization spotting. Some of the original lacquer remains intact and it hold a nice dark brown finish to it. The solid nickel scabbard fittings show typical age wear that matches the crossguards perfectly. The ball has two wee bruises and all four screws remain intact. The one bottom screw has lost half its head. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! The reverse of the lower crossguard is marked "S" (Schlesien). The brown hardwood grip looks fine. It shows pressure marks, cracks and flakes. The solid nickel eagle has a perfect fit and nice detail. The SA roundel has a perfect fit and retains 99%+ of its enamel. A great piece!
