In my opinion this is one of the most elegant looking daggers made in the Third Reich! The cleaned blade on this piece looks excellent! The acid etched "ACS Alcoso Solingen" maker mark is beautifully executed! It has a perfectly pointed tip! The blade on this one rates in at Exc++. It shows evidence that it has been cleaned along with minor runner marks throughout. There is a wee wiggle to the blade, this could be tightened but was left a little loose to prevent strain on the grip plates. The original blue felt buffer pad remains intact. The steel based and nickel-silver plated scabbard looks great and remains completely dent-free! It has minor spidering to the edges and the slightest spot of plating loss. The scabbard body depicts beautiful details with a random pebbled body and hand enhanced oak leaf and acorn bands. The two side throat retaining screws continue to remain intact. The scabbard snugly fits up against the hilt. The hilt is tombak based and nickel-silver plated. The crossguard depicts a regal eagle with outstretched wings clutching a wreathed swastika in its talons. It wonderfully displays details throughout the eagles head, chest, wings, and thick wreathed swastika. The eagle head pommel is quite glamorous as well. The two grip plates are made of a simulated mother of pearl over a wood base. They are in wonderful condition! The multi-toned color is just beautiful! Overall this is a real beauty that wonderfully shows off hand-fitted German craftsmanship! No collection is complete without one of these!
