Here we have a Hitler Youth Belt Buckle (Hitlerjugend Koppelschloß) by RZM M4/27 (Overhoff & Cie, Lüdenscheid), that was instituted in 1936. It is constructed out of a single piece of die struck steel that has been nickel-silver plated. The obverse roundel depicts a closed winged HJ eagle clutching an HJ diamond within its talons on a pebbled round background. Above the eagle is the Hitler Youth motto reading: “Blut und Ehre” (Blood and Honor). This is then encircled by detailed lines which are enclosed by two twisted ropes and all lies on the smooth rectangular background. The reverse is clearly maker marked “RZM M/4/27” (Overhoft & Cie., Lüdenscheid). The steel prongs and soldered on catch remain in excellent condition! It shows minor spotting wear. The details to the eagle, motto and roundel are superb! It measures approximately 2 7/16 inch wide by 1 7/8 inches high. An excellent looking piece!
