German WWII > Belt Buckles > Navy >
A beautiful Coastal Artillery Belt Buckle by Gustav Brehmer! It is constructed of a single piece of die struck steel that has been black painted. The obverse roundel depicts a closed winged Heer eagle griping a mobile swastika in its talons on a rough round background. The eagle is above a half oak leaf and acorn wreath that is tied together at the bottom and is underneath the Heer motto reading: "Gott Mit Uns" (God with us). The wreath and motto are both in front of a decorative lined type pattern which is encircled by two twisted ropes. The roundel lies on a smooth rectangular backing. The reverse is clearly maker marked "GB" (Gustav Brehmer, Markneukirch) and "43" (1943). The steel painted prongs and catch remain in excellent condition! It measures approximately 2 1/2 inch wide by 1 7/8 inches high. This piece is in wonderful condition!
