German WWII > Belt Buckles > Army >
A nice Army Belt Buckle by Julius Kremp, Lüdenscheid 1943. It is constructed of a single piece of die struck steel that has been green painted. The obverse roundel depicts a closed winged Heer eagle griping a mobile swastika in its talons on a smooth round background. The eagle is above a half oak leaf and acorn wreath that is tied together at the bottom and is underneath the Heer motto reading: "Gott Mit Uns" (God with us). The wreath and motto are both in front of a decorative lined type pattern which is encircled by two twisted ropes. The roundel lies on a smooth rectangular backing. The reverse is maker marked "IKA 43" (Julius Kremp, Lüdenscheid 1943) . The steel painted prongs and catch remain intact. The eagle has a small dent in it. It measures approximately 2 1/2 inch wide by 1 7/8 inches high. A good one!
